Poland's state strategic reserves agency (Rządowa Agencja Rezerw Strategicznych - RARS) has awarded a PLN32.2 million Polish zloty (USD8.2 million) contract to Austria's Air Ambulance Technology GmbH to equip four E195s of LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) for medevac missions.

According to a public procurement notice, the contract was signed on October 14, 2026, and covers medical equipment and certification work to allow the aircraft to switch between passenger and medical evacuation configurations. The project is expected to conclude by April 30, 2027.

The equipment will accommodate up to six intensive-care patients or 16 stretcher patients, with five possible cabin configurations. The four aircraft covered are SP-LNA (msn 19000415), SP-LNB (msn 19000444), SP-LNC (msn 19000462), and SP-LND (msn 19000516).

LOT signed an agreement with RARS in July 2025 to provide emergency transport under the European Union's rescEU civil protection mechanism, as previously reported by ch-aviation. The arrangement requires three aircraft to remain available, including one designated for medical evacuation.

The Polish flag carrier is meanwhile preparing to replace its Embraer regional fleet with forty A220s, with deliveries beginning in 2027.
