KlasJet (KJ, Vilnius) has received Part 129 Operations Specifications (OpSpecs) approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), paving the way for the Avia Solutions Group carrier to initiate charter and ACMI operations on behalf of companies in the United States.

Diako Rad, director of flight operations at KlasJet, said the company is “now ready to operate to and from the US. FAA approval was the final step needed to deploy our approved aircraft for charter and ACMI operations involving the United States and surrounding regions.”

The FAA’s granting covers the company’s B737NG fleet. Earlier this year, CEO Justinas Bulka told ch-aviation that obtaining a nod from the US would allow the carrier to serve neighbouring countries such as the Bahamas.

ch-aviation fleets data shows KlasJet has two B737-300s, three B737-500s, and seven B737-800s.

The company believes there is strong potential in the US market for its ACMI and charter services. “North and South America is one of the largest aviation markets in the world, with huge seasonal variations in demand and constant movement in available capacity,” Rad said, adding that the company is well suited to managing seasonal peaks, capacity shortages, aircraft availability issues, and operational disruptions.

The airline was founded as an executive charter specialist in 2013, branching out into ACMI in 2023.
