Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG, Dhaka) has signed an order with Boeing selecting eight B787-10s, two B787-9s, and four B737-8s. It is the carrier’s biggest-ever order, and one that was long anticipated. It will allow the airline to expand and modernise its fleet, a statement said.
The B787-10s will be used to serve high-demand routes to the Middle East. The two B787-9s will support long-haul services to Europe and North America. And the B737-8s will connect Bangladesh with destinations across the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia, the statement revealed.
ch-aviation fleets data shows that Biman Bangladesh Airlines currently operates four B737-800s, four B777-300ERs, four B787-8s, two B787-9s, and five DHC-8-Q400s.
The deal with the North American manufacturer was part of Bangladesh’s government trade deal with the United States back in November 2025. The planned order dismayed European Union officials, as the flag carrier had previously announced in 2023 that it would acquire up to ten A350s from Airbus.
