Copa Airlines (CM, Panamá City Tocumen International) has signed an agreement with Boeing to acquire forty B737 MAX aircraft with options for twenty more, the airline said in a statement.
These join a pending previous order for forty aircraft, allowing the airline to potentially incorporate up to 100 new jets over the next eight years and operate a fleet of over 200 jets by 2034, it said.
The new aircraft will be delivered between 2030 and 2034, and could be used for both fleet growth or renewal of older units. The agreement allows Copa the flexibility to choose between the B737-8, B737-9, and B737-10 types, depending on the requirements of the company.
ch-aviation fleets data shows Copa Airlines currently operates nine B737-700s, fifty-seven B737-800s, eighteen B737-8s, thirty-two B737-9s, and two B737-800(BCF)s.
