South Korea's Gangseo-gu district has finalised its 2025 subsidy programme for airlines basing their aircraft at Busan. On December 11, the local government announced the disbursement of KRW281.7 million won (USD191,000) to support 24 aircraft operated by Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, and Air Seoul.
The scheme reimburses maintenance expenses equivalent to 50% of the property tax paid per aircraft, excluding training and light planes. The initiative aims to reduce airline operating expenses while incentivising carriers to designate Busan as their legal home base.
