Recent US trade agreements with South Korea and Switzerland have restored zero-for-zero tariffs on imports of aircraft and parts in line with a 1979 agreement on trade in civil aircraft.
Implementation dates for the new deals have not yet been announced.
On November 13, the White House announced that President Donald Trump, during a recent state visit to South Korea, agreed to remove tariffs on certain aircraft and parts from South Korea, acknowledging Korean Air's August purchase order for 103 Boeing aircraft valued at USD36 billion.
On November 14, the Trump administration also announced a framework for a trade deal with Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The non-binding framework trade agreement promises a lower US import tariff rate of 15% for Switzerland - down from 39% - in return for USD200 billion in investments by Swiss companies in the US.
