Horizon Air (QX, Seattle Tacoma International), a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, has taken delivery of two E175s that were briefly delayed due tariffs the US government imposed on Brazil as part of President Donald Trump’s trade bargaining.

Alaska Air Group confirmed to Reuters that both regional jets were delivered after a short delay. They are N668QX (msn 17000992) and N669QX (msn 17000995), incorporated into Horizon’s fleet on June 27. They are currently active, ADS-B data shows.

Horizon Air’s fleet comprises forty-seven E175s. Three more remain to be delivered, but the company will not add them in 2025.

Brazilian imports to the US are currently subject to a 10% tariff, but manufacturer Embraer can deduct US-made content on its planes, and some of its bizjets are assembled in Florida, Reuters reported.

Both countries are currently in the midst of tense negotiations after Trump warned Brazil he would impose a 50% tariff on all imports starting August 1 if President Luiz Inácio lula da Silva's government does not stop an alleged "witch hunt" against right-wing former president, Jair Bolsonaro, who is facing trial for allegedly attempting to stage a coup against Lula. This last announcement could possibly impact Embraer’s ongoing orders in the United States, despite some companies such as Flexjet (LXJ, Cleveland Cuyahoga Country) saying they would stand by the Brazilian company.

In a brief statement, Alaska Air Group confirmed the delivery and entrance into service of both jets.
