MachJet International (Sunshine Coast) has inducted a second Citation Jet 4 in response to growing charter demand across Australia and internationally, the company told ch-aviation.

The 2014-built Citation Jet 4, registered in Australia as VH-IPY (msn 525C-0153) on August 31, is configured for up to nine passengers. Previously operated privately out of Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH under Bermudan registration VP-BIB, the aircraft remained active until December 2025.

On July 31, the jet ferried between Zurich and London Stansted. Five days later, it departed for Sunshine Coast, where it is based, arriving three days later following stops at Istanbul Airport, Baku Heydar Aliev International, Samarkand, Nagpur, Phuket, Praya Lombok International, and Broome. The company runs an FBO and built a new hangar at Sunshine Coast in late 2025.

MachJet International cited the Citation Jet 4's combination of performance, range, payload, and operating efficiency as key reasons for adding another aircraft. “The type is extremely well suited to the type of charter flying we undertake across Australia and internationally,” a spokesperson said. Both Citation Jet 4s, Australia's sole units of the type, are owned by the company.

MachJet International further operates two Citation Jets and a Citation Jet 2, after retiring another aircraft of the type in late 2025. “In terms of further expansion of the Citation platform, we don't have a specific target fleet size. We continually assess opportunities that complement our existing fleet and meet the requirements of our clients,” the spokesperson elaborated.

The company's fleet also includes a United States-registered Challenger 605 and five King Air B200 Beech (twin turboprop)s. MachJet International expects to add another aircraft in the coming months, though details remain undisclosed.
