China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) has received China Securities Regulatory Commission approval to issue up to 5.4 billion new A shares to no more than 35 investors, including controlling shareholder China Southern Air Holding, for a capital raise of up to CNY15 billion yuan (USD2.2 billion). The approval, dated September 3, 2026, is valid for 12 months. China Southern Airlines plans to use the proceeds to finance the acquisition of 46 aircraft and supplement working capital.
