Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) will decide whether to close its Belgrade Nikola Tesla base by late September 2026. The low-cost carrier assured that if it does close, it will continue to serve the Serbian capital, albeit at reduced capacity. Wizz Air warned of a potential closure of the base in June after changes to foreign airline regulations in Serbia. On July 13, 2026, the airline submitted a petition with 21,000 signatures in support of preserving the base. "We urge the Serbian authorities to respond to our request for dialogue so that we can find a compromise," said base manager Nevena Todorović.
