AVi8 Air Capital has announced plans to launch a branded franchise ACMI airline based at Ho Chi Minh City to provide additional wet-lease capacity in Southeast Asia, using A320-200 and A321-200(P2F) aircraft. Earlier, the investment company said it was expanding its brand with new ACMI charter airlines using B737-800 and A320 types, with further franchise announcements expected. AVi8 is backed by Ed Wegel, who is also relaunching Pan American Airways in the United States.
