Tanzanian charter carrier Miracle Air (Arusha) has announced a new seasonal route connecting the Serengeti and Zanzibar for the safari high season between July and end-September 2026.

Starting on July 19, the route is operated with a DHC-8-100 (msn 179), a new addition to the fleet, registered as 5H-SHS, according to ADS-B data and a company announcement on social media. That registration is also reflected on the list of registered aircraft published by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority, which reveals that the turboprop is owned by Nairobi-based ALS - Aircraft Leasing Services, where it was formerly registered as 5Y-STN. ASL confirmed it is currently dry leasing the 37-year-old turboprop to Miracle Air.

According to ch-aviation data, the 37-seater airframe was delivered new to Air Ontario in 1989. It was operated by Jazz Air from 2001, and acquired by ALS in 2006.

Miracle Air launched operations on January 20, 2025, providing scheduled flights to safari and beach destinations, and private charters in East Africa.

It currently operates two Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravan 208B EX turboprops, 5H-AZH (msn 208B5844) and 5H-SRG (msn 208B5881), owned by its parent firm, Miracle Experiences Limited.

Miracle Air obtained its AOC for non-scheduled operations in September 2024. It forms part of a group of tourism-related Tanzanian companies, including Miracle Experience Balloon Safaris and Zanzibar Submarine Tours.
