Southwest Airlines (WN, Dallas Love Field) will open a crew base at Austin-Bergstrom International in March 2026. The low-cost carrier said that it would initially base approximately 335 pilots and 650 flight attendants out of the city, subsequently scaling up to around 2,000 staff members by mid-2027. It will also add a recurring training facility for cabin crew in the city. Southwest Airlines is already the largest operator at the Texan airport with 127,655 weekly departure seats on offer and a 45% market share by scheduled departure capacity.
