The updated Operations Plan Germany, developed amid heightened tensions following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, anticipates the country becoming a key NATO logistics hub. Ritter urged faster deployment of drone-detection systems at all major German airports, prioritised according to traffic volumes, which means that Munich would be next in line as Frankfurt International already has such a system.
