Xiamen Airlines (MF, Xiamen) has received approval from majority shareholder China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) to provide financial guarantees to several of its own subsidiaries between January 1 and December 31, 2026. The guarantees, of not more than CNY6.38 billion yuan (USD899 million), are intended to support the business development of the relevant entities and include:
- Hebei Airlines: up to CNY2.95 billion (USD415 million) to this wholly owned subsidiary;
- Xiamen Airlease: up to CNY1.3 billion (USD183 million);
- Xiamen Airlines Financial Leasing: up to CNY1.5 billion (USD211 million);
- Jiangxi Airlines: up to CNY327 million (USD46 million);
- Shangzhou Logistics: up to CNY300 million (USD42 million).
To date, the total amount of external guarantees provided by China Southern Airlines and its controlled subsidiaries was approximately CNY36.09 billion (USD5.1 billion), representing 103.92% of the company's latest audited net assets. The proposal is still pending shareholder approval.
